Valhalla Ventures (“Valhalla”) invests in fast growing data and technology businesses and is the principal investor and shareholder in Preqin.
Owned by Mark and Lindy O’Hare and family, it also manages the O’Hare family’s philanthropic activities.
Investment activities
Valhalla is a patient, long term investor, focused primarily on the areas where we have a strong track record of success:
- Fast-growing data and technology companies;
- Helping startups and young companies achieve scale and leadership in their markets; and
- Unlike a VC or private equity firm, Valhalla has a truly long-term time horizon, with no need or expectation for a short investment horizon or exit.
Past success includes founding Citywatch, the equity shareholdings information service that is now part of Refinitiv.

Philanthropic activities
Valhalla’s philanthropic activities focus on education, sustainability and performing arts.
Education: Valhalla has a currently modest but growing programme of supporting education in the UK and Africa.
Performing Arts: The creation of the outdoor Thorington Theatre, nestled in Suffolk woodland is an example of this.
Sustainability: Net Zero Insights is a commercial business providing data to support the global transition to Net Zero. Valhalla is also engaged in regenerative agriculture and organic nut trees.
